COURIER OR CARGO: WHICH IS RIGHT FOR YOUR SHIPMENT?
When you send something abroad from Nepal, one of the first questions is whether to book it as a courier or as cargo. Both get your goods to the destination, but they suit very different shipments. Picking the right one can save you a lot of money and time.
Courier: best for small and urgent shipments
Courier is an express, door-to-door service. We collect the parcel, it travels on scheduled express networks and it is delivered straight to the receiver’s address. It is ideal for:
- Documents, samples and gifts
- Parcels up to roughly 30–50 kg
- Time-sensitive items that need to arrive in a few days
- Shipments where the receiver wants simple, all-inclusive delivery
Cargo: best for bigger and heavier goods
Cargo (air, sea or road freight) is designed for volume. Rates per kilo drop as the weight grows, which makes it far more economical for large consignments such as handicrafts, garments, carpets, household goods or business stock. Cargo usually needs a little more paperwork and may be delivered to an airport, port or warehouse unless you add door delivery.
